Farewell Party for Dr. Chya-Yan Liaw

Today we said farewell to Chya-Yan. She joined IBAM-Lab in 2016, and she had significant impact on our research direction and mentoring of students. She will be missed!!! We wish her great success in her future career.

Excellence in Teaching Award

Dr. Guvendiren receives an Excellence in Teaching Award in the category of Excellence in Innovative Teaching. Excellence in Teaching Awards have been founded to recognize and reward members of the faculty and instructional staff for outstanding accomplishment in teaching.

Dr. Guvendiren received the National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award.

News from our high school students

We are very proud to share news about some of the high school students worked with us during the summer research program.

 

David Catena (IBAM-Lab Undergraduate Research Mentorship Program; Hampton Bays High School, NY) is admitted to NJIT.

 

Ethan Park (2019 NJIT Provost Summer Research Program; Tenafly High School, NJ) is now attending the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign’s Grainger School of Engineering in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Ethan presented his work in the Nokia Bell Labs North Jersey Regional Science Fair (2020) and was awarded second place in the Biomedical Engineering and Bioinformatics category. His presentation was titled "The Comparison of Scaffold Designs for Bone Regeneration Tissue Engineering". The link to his abstract and presentation can be found here.

 

Victoria Youssef (2019 and 2018 NJIT Provost Summer Research Program; Livingston High School, NJ) is now attending in Dean's Scholar Program in the College of Science and Liberal Arts at NJIT. She is continuing to work with us.
